Parent Guidelines

At Arputham Samuel Public School, parents are valued as partners in the educational journey of their children. Active cooperation and consistent communication between parents and the school are essential for the holistic development and academic success of every student.

General Instructions

  • Parents are requested to maintain regular contact with the school and monitor their ward’s academic progress and behaviour.
  • Daily homework, assignments, and school diary entries should be checked and signed regularly.
  • Any change in residential address or contact numbers must be informed to the school office without delay.
  • Meeting teachers during instructional hours is discouraged; parents should adhere to the specified meeting schedule.
  • Parents are advised not to criticize teachers or school policies in front of children, as this may negatively affect the child’s attitude towards learning.
  • Parents should ensure punctuality in sending and receiving their wards from school.
  • Use of mobile phones within the school campus is discouraged for parents.
  • All official communications regarding certificates, bonafide letters, and academic records should be routed through the school office.

Parent–Teacher Meetings

  • Parent–Teacher Meetings (PTMs) provide an opportunity to discuss the academic progress, behaviour, and overall development of students.
  • Parents are encouraged to attend PTMs regularly and interact with all subject teachers.
  • Punctuality during PTMs is expected to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Parents are requested to extend full cooperation to teachers during PTMs and implement suggested remedial measures at home.

Health & Nutrition Guidelines

  • Parents should ensure that students carry healthy, nutritious food and sufficient drinking water daily.
  • Healthy snacks such as fruits, sprouts, nuts, green salads, and homemade food are encouraged.
  • Junk food, packet snacks, chocolates, and aerated drinks should be strictly avoided.
  • Parents must inform the class teacher about any medical condition or health concern of their child for timely care and support.
  • Students are expected to maintain personal hygiene, including clean uniforms, trimmed nails, and neat grooming.

Note to KG Parents

  • KG students should not bring valuable items or wear jewellery to school.
  • Parents are requested to train children in basic personal habits such as brushing teeth, bathing regularly, and combing hair neatly.
  • Nails should be trimmed regularly, and hygiene should be maintained.
  • Encourage children to eat independently using a spoon without spilling food or water.
  • Send a lunch towel, spoon, and an easy-to-open snack box and water bottle. Avoid plastic containers.
  • Biscuits, fruits, vegetable salads, dry fruits, nuts, or pulses may be sent in small quantities for snacks. Avoid junk food.
  • Provide a spare set of clothes and a handkerchief for the child.
  • Do not send toys, pencils, crayons, or unnecessary items in the school bag.
  • Both parents are requested to check and sign the school diary whenever it is sent.
  • KG parents may meet teachers only on the stipulated days and timings.
